About the branch

Welcome to the new UNISON Leeds Teaching Hospitals Website. Hopefully you will find this a useful resource as a UNISON member. The site is work in progress and new items will be added on a regular basis. Please feel free to contact at unison.sjuh@nhs.net to feedback any comments or suggestions you may have for items you may wish to be included in the future

As a branch, we work with other trade unions in partnership with management as part of the LTH Trust partnership agreement. However, although we work closely with other trade unions, our 1st and utmost priority is to service the best interests of all branch UNISON members.

UNISON Leeds Teaching Hospitals Branch represent 4,000 members who work for Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust which is made up of St James’s, Leeds General Infirmary, Chapel Allerton, Wharfedale ,Seacroft Hospitals and Leeds Dental Institute. We also represent employees working at Trust Satellite Units.

We actively campaign for high quality services in the NHS and voluntary sector. We feel that a good working environment is essential to delivering high quality care.

You can find a list of branch roles here, but don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or would like to get involved.

Our Branch Committee meet on a monthly basis to discuss and agree all aspects of local, regional and national business.

Our stewards are all trained and educated in their role through UNISON training, and will assist and advise wherever possible where this is requested from members. Please bear in mind though that all our stewards do this on a voluntary basis and combine their UNISON role with their “Day jobs”

Our branch is always interested to hear from any member who wishes more information on becoming a steward? Please feel free to talk to your local steward or get in contact with the branch for further information. Full training and continued support will be in place for every steward.
